It was fantastic.Īfter spending some time with the babies, we got to head into the dairy barn where the milk cows are kept. My 4-year-old made special friends with one cow who kept licking him and trying to suck his fingers. Our kids got to get out and pet the calves and were so thrilled by how friendly they were. For the first few months of a calf's life, they’re kept with the other babies in little sheds and cared for individually by the farmers. The fully integrated dairy farm to creamery delivers a true farm-to-table experience. See the cows get milked and then head into the plant to learn how cheese is made and stored in a cave. Special BBQ, murder mystery, wizard trains, casino trains and several individual train events run during the season. ![]() These attractions offer a unique look at the area’s rich culture and history. A few highlights include the nearby Heber Valley Railroad, the Heber Valley Artisan Cheese Factory and the historic Main Street district. The kids loved the ride, but they were quickly obsessed with our first stop - seeing the baby cows. To arrange a tour for your group please call the Salt Lake City factory location- (801) 269-8444. On the Heber Valley Railroad, also known as 'The Heber Creeper' enjoy a 100-year-old steam train journey across farmlands, follow a lake shore, and descend into a scenic canyon. Once the tour of the creamery is complete, visitors can explore the rest of the Heber Valley. ![]() ![]() Not only was it a great learning experience for all of us, but it gave us all a greater appreciation of what it takes to get us that morning glass of milk!Īt the start of our dairy tour, we were picked up at the cheese factory and taken on a hayride over to the dairy farm around the corner. The tour took an hour and was the perfect length for my boys who are 4, 7, and 9. The dairy farm tour was so amazing and so much fun for the entire family. Providing others with a memorable experience is at the heart of Heber Valley Artisan Cheese, a small family dairy farm and creamery nestled in the quaint community of Midway, Utah.
